Chisomo Band faces Great Angels
Chisomo Gospel Band of St Columba CCAP Church in Blantyre will on Sunday share the stage with Great Angels Choir in a concert to be held at St Columba CCAP Church Hall.
Chisomo Gospel Band Director, Phelire Malongo, said yesterday that the live band concert that will have no CD performances has been organised to raise funds for them to finish their DVD project.
“We started working on the DVD last year so we would want to finish it and we are also preparing to launch our two albums which were recorded at Ralph Records and Groove Magic,” Malongo said.
She said they have made strides in their music as an up and coming women group and that their aim is to minister the word of God to the world.
“As a group we have maintained our standards, we have a full band and we sing live on stage,” Malongo said.
She said they were happy to share the stage with Great Angels Choir and called upon people to come in large numbers.
“We promise people the best on the day. And because we will have a live music concert our entry fees are K2,000 for standard, K10,000 for VIP with a complimentary CD.Executive tickets will cost K5,000,” Malongo said.
Malongo also said that this was a pre-Easter show.
Chisomo Band has 20 women members and their albums are M’dalire and N’dzayenda ndi Yesu.
Other artists performing at the show are Lonjezo and Kho.
