Malawi national women football team captain, Chisomo Kazisonga, scored twice for her Austrian second-tier league side, SV Neulengbach on Sunday.
Kazisonga scored in 6-3 win over FC Altera despite that she plays as a central defender.
She is playing for the reserve team while being prepared for Neulengbach’s senior team. Neulengbach are third in the league.
Earlier, Kazisonga said it was important for Malawi national team to bounce back onto the international stage.
The team lost is place on the rankings due to inactivity.
“We need to be serious. There is no way a team can get a rank when it is dormant. Malawi has talent. Recently, I watched a European Championship qualifier involving Australia against Wales. It was amazing,” she said.
The Malawi women team is currently in camp preparing for a trip to Tanzania for a friendly game on November 7 2015.
