Chitipa United are in desperate need of K1 million to enable the Simama Premier Division champions for the Northern Region prepare for participation in the TNM Super League.
Speaking at the club’s annual general meeting (AGM) on Saturday, Chitipa General Secretary, Marshal Mwenechanya, said they need the money to meet the costs of registration and licensing.
Mwenechanya said failure to raise the amount will jeopardise their pre-season preparations.
“We ne ed to have K1,150,000 [before March] for registration, Club Licensing and other basic necessities. Other costs, such as transport for the team, can be looked at a later stage, but this amount I am mentioning is needed urgently,” he said.
Meanwhile, all Chitipa’s Executive Committee members retained their positions unopposed.
However, Chairperson George Ndenga has since resigned citing personal reasons. Teka Sichela and Siyasa Nyondo are still serving as vice and second vice-chairpersons, respectively.
Kondwani Sinkhonde is the vice-General Secretary while Moir Simengwa is the Lions’ Treasurer.

According to the General Secretary, the actual voting did not take place as no person outside the executive committee showed interest in any position.
