Chitipa United coach happy to frustrate Bullets

Chitipa  United Coach, Kondwani Mwalweni, has said they will build their confidence from Saturday’s goalless draw against TNM Super League giants, Nyasa Big Bullets, at Mzuzu Stadium.

The visitor’s threw everything into the game, but failed to unlock Chitipa’s disciplined back-four.

Bullets’ hard work nearly paid dividends in the 13th minute, but striker Muhammad Sulumba headed against the cross-bar from Yamikani Fodya’s cross.

Mwalweni hailed his team for sticking to the game-plan.

“I told them to go flat out and play their normal game and it worked. I am happy with the point because drawing against Bullets is not a joke.

“We were playing with a lone striker and, maybe, that is why we were not clinical upfront. However, it was a positive result for us,” Mwalweni, whose side made three attempts on target, said.

His Bullets counterpart, Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan, said he felt his side deserved a win.

He was, on the other hand, full of praises for their “well-organised” opponents.

“They are a very committed team, very physical…but it happens in a game of football [to drop points]. There is no team that comes into the league with no purpose. So they played with a purpose,” Ramadhan said.

“We created chances only that luck was not on our side. But it is a beginning of the season, so to get a point is not that bad.”
