Chitipa United rope in MacDonald Mtetemera

Newly promoted TNM Super League side Chitipa United have hired coach MacDonald Mtetemera on a two-year deal.
This comes two months after Mtetemera failed to save Sable Farming from relegation last season. He replaces Gift Mkamanga, who helped the team earn promotion back to the TNM Super League.
Chitipa General Secretary Duma Ngoma said Mtetemera signed a performance-based contract.
“We do not want to take chances. Mtetemera has vast experience and we believe he will help us,’’ Ngoma said.
Mtetemera has been given freedom to choose his backroom staff.
The former Sable coach said he is expected to sign the contract after agreeing personal terms.
“It is a done deal. We are just finalising few things with management of the club,’’ Mtetemera said.
Chitipa have started beefing up their squad in preparation for top flight football next season.
So far, they have signed defender Justice Banda from Chintheche United, Lewani Nkosi and Nanison Mbewe (both from Kadona Stars) and James Mphambe. Apart from coaching Sable, Mtetemera has been at several clubs including Silver Strikers and Dwangwa United. At Silver, he was assistant to Zambian Daniel Kabwe.
