Reigning TNM Super League champions, Nyasa Big Bullets, have received a morale-boost ahead of Saturday’s Blantyre derby as their gangling striker, Chiukepo Msowoya, and right-back Pilirani Zonda are back from injuries.
Msowoya and Zonda missed two opening league matches of the league, which saw the Bullets held to a goalless draw against Moyale Barracks the previous week before beating Red Lions 2-1 last Sunday.
Bullets Team Doctor, Godfrey Ng’ambi, said the duo started light training last week and might be available for selection for the game against Be Forward Wanderers.
Ng’ambi added that midfielder, Chikondi Likwemba, will be out for two months due to a left shoulder injury he received during the match against the Lions.
He played for 10 minutes only after coming on as a substitute for Fischer Kondowe at Balaka Stadium.
“I went with him to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital for a scan, and doctors discovered that his left fracture clavicle shoulder is not quite good. He has been ordered to rest for almost eight weeks, but he will start receiving physiotherapy after four weeks,” Ng’ambi said.
Meanwhile, Ng’ambi is assessing injured defender Sankhani Mkandawire. Bullets’ new signing, Amadu Makawa, is also injured.
