Chiukepo Msowoya recalled
Malawi national football team Coach, Ronny van Geneugden, has recalled Nyasa Big Bullets’ seasoned striker Chiukepo Msowoya alongside South Africa-based Robin Ngalande and Atusaye Nyondo.
Ngalande and Nyondo, who hardly feature for South Africa’s Baroka FC and Bloemfontein Celtic, respectively, are back in the Flames’ squad alongside Mozambique-based Chawanangwa Kawonga (Chibuto FC) and Schumacher Kuwali (Ferroviaro de Nampula).
Interestingly, van Geneugden has selected Bullets’ left-back Yamikani Fodya at the expense of in-form team-mate Emmanuel Zoya, while also sidelining Young Chimodzi junior (Silver Strikers), Alfred Manyozo (Be Forward Wanderers) and the Bankers’ leading scorer Matthews Sibale.
Wanderers’ attacker Jabulani Linje has also been included in the squad despite making limited impact at his club.
Notable exclusions are Mozambique-based striker Richard Mbulu and midfielder Frank Banda.
The Flames are expected to host Lesotho at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on November 11 in a warm-up match.
