Chiukepo vows to continue fighting
Nyasa Big Bullets striker Chiukepo Msowoya has vowed to continue fighting for a place in the team’s starting lineup when the 2020 season kicks off.
Msowoya 31 is one of the country’s most decorated footballers having helped Malawi national football team to qualify for the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Angola.
Besides also playing for defunct Kradd Eagles and Super Escom locally, Msowoya has also featured for top teams in South Africa, Rwanda and Mozambique.
The forward boas ts of over 15 years in the game but believes that he still has three to four seasons in top flight football.
“I have heard some people calling me a veteran player, but I am not yet into that league. I am just a seasoned player. I still have a lot to offer. I see myself competing at the top up to the 2024 season,” Msowoya said.
The battle-scarred goal poacher said he is still fit to continue contributing to Bullets’ success.
“Having played football in several countries, I know what it takes to keep going on the pitch. I am doing all the right things to maintain my fitness. I still have the speed and agility to take on defenders in the Super League,” he said.
At the People’s Team, Msowoya faces stiff competition for a starting place with other strikers such as Patrick Phiri and Hassan Kajoke.
Msowoya played 89 games for the Flames and netted 37 goals, one of which was a famous winner against Egypt in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier over 12 years ago.
Locally, he has won five Charity Shields, one Presidential Cup, one Carlsberg Cup and three Super League titles.
