Mangochi based Chiyanjano Women Choir of Zambezi Evangelical Church on Sunday wrote their own script in music when they launched their debut album Ambuye ndi Mayankho at Mangochi Community Hall.

The main message in the 10-track album is encouraging Christians to take their daily inspiration from Israelites.

During the launch, the women singers put up an electric performance, giving patrons plenty of action to sample from their debut album, whose DVD is currently under production according to the choir’s director Christina Silva.

Silva urged believers to always look up to God whenever they are in problems just like the way the Israelites did with the leadership of Moses, stressing that there is no problem which is bigger than God.

“Through our music we want to preach the word of God, which is centred on his love. Ambuye ndi Mayankho is carrying a message of hope. We want people to listen to our music and see God’s work in action, because we believe that God is still doing something,” Silva said.

Apart from the title track, the album which has been mixed with rumba and local Manganje beats has songs such as Pathamando and Ndidzayendanaye.

Ndidzayendanaye talks of a person who, for a long time has been living unholy life and then he realised the benefits of walking with Jesus. And in this song, this person declares that he will always walk with Jesus so that he should have eternal life,” she said.

The choir has since said that they will also hold performances in other districts across the country to reach out to more people with their message.
