Several companies have scooped awards in the 2016 CIM Marketers Excellence Awards from the 75 entries that came from 25 different companies.

The awards ceremony which took place recently at Ryalls Hotel in Blantyre saw National Bank of Malawi’s Wilkins Mijiga emerging marketer of the year while National Bank of Malawi becoming PR [Public Relations] Project of the year and Airtel marketing campaign of the year and also crowned commercial of the year (TV).

NBM also emerged outstanding SME [Small Medium Enterprises] marketing initiative, digital marketing initiative and also marketing game change of the year. TNM also went smiling as it was awarded the commercial of the year award (outdoor) and the most visible brand of the years and also commercial of the year (radio).

FDH Bank came out with two awards thus life changing brand of the year and commercial of the year (print). Illovo Sugar Company also turned tables as it came out with two awards corporate social investment of the year and most improved brand of the year. Unilever was awarded the social marketing initiative of the year while FD Communications advertising agency of the year and Jones Chikowo graphic artist of the year.

“The judges this year were led by the chief Judge Dr. Mathews Ngwale a seasoned researcher entrepreneur and lecturer, renowned seasoned marketer Mercus Chigoga and legal practitioner Felistas Jumbe,” said Kachinjika in an interview.
