Civo United have received a huge boost ahead of a clash against Blue Eagles this Saturday at Nankhaka Stadium as midfield kingpin Dan Msimuko has returned to full action.

Civo had eight players on the injury list but the return to action of Msimuko means the club still has seven players on the sidelines.

Msimuko picked up a knee injury in a dull goal-less draw against Be Forward Wanderers at Kamuzu Stadium last month.

“I have just started training this week and I am fit to play. If the coach gives me a chance against Eagles I will work hard to impress the coach,” Msimuko said.

Msimuko, a rejected stone at Silver Strikers has turned into a cornerstone for Civo since joining the club in 2015. He was also part of the Standard Bank Cup winning squad last season.

Civo coach, Milias Jegwe Pofera said the recovery of Msimuko has also boosted the team’s morale ahead of the game.

“He is a quality player and it is great news for us. Definitely, we need to have a full strength squad in the league and Msimuko will add depth to the squad,” he said.

In this week’s game against Eagles, Civo are expected to be without vice-captain Blessings Kawanga, Fletcher Bandawe, Innocent Phiri, Ratius Banda, Isaack Msiska and Patience Kalumo due to injuries.

Civo are on position eight in the TNM Super League with 12 points from nine games whereas Eagles are second with 18 points from eight games.
