Code Sangala on Putumayo World Music platform third time

The country’s United States of America (USA) based musician Code Sangala has found himself on the Putumayo World Music stage and this time with a new single titled ‘Mzako’.
Putumayo World Music is a New Orleans-based record label that specialises in compilations of world music, jazz and blues.
His newest move comes barely a year after he also had a feature of the dance remix of ‘Tikamapanga Chikondi’ on the Putumayo World Music playlist.
This is actually the third time that Code’s music has made the Putumayo playlist and apart from ‘Tikamapanga Chikondi’ and ‘Mzako’, he also has had ‘Bekeshu’.
“We are carting the Malawi flag up high with this new single. This is special because it highlights me as an artist representing Malawi on a new Extended Playlist (EP) called Putumayo Discoveries under the title Putumayo World Party 4,” Code said.
Better known as CO, the former Big Brother Africa representative, said the whole set-up was different in other his other songs were released by Naxos World and Baobab Music respectively.
“This is the first time that my music is officially being released by Putumayo so, it is super exciting and their website will also highlight the story behind the EP,” Code said.
Produced by him and OBK at OBK Beats, the track celebrates the splendor of friendship, how we ought to love our friendship as much as we love ourselves and how we all need a friend in time of happiness or sorrow.
Code has a number of albums to his acclaim and they include Mizu a sophomore project he released in October 2019 on Naxos World.
He released his debut album Solo_The Album in 2013 which has tracks such as ‘Ndiwe’, ‘Kumadziore’ and ‘Tithana.’
