Musician Code Sangala on Friday entertained people at Mayoka Village Beach Lodge in Nkhata Bay.
His performance comes barely a week after he had a successful show in Blantyre during Sounds of Malawi Acoustic Session.
The artist, fresh from United States of America where he has been for close to a year, treated people to several of his songs.
During the show, the former Big Brother Africa representative announced that he would release an album next year.
“There is a new album coming out next year but, who knows? I think I might drop a single very soon and I am already excited about that because I look at a whole new album. Now I am just looking at which song should I select to be the first single,” Code said.
This would be Code’s third album since he went solo, having starred with Kapirintiya for some time. He debuted with Solo the Project before dropping his second titled Mizu.
The singer said he used to perform at Mayoka every three months but the arrangement changed after the lodge was taken up by new management.
“I used to come here every three months; so, when I started talking to the new management, they are from Denmark, they bought into the idea and they were like when do we do it? So we arranged in just a matter of a week,” he said.
The singer and guitarist said the warm reception and good patronage has been motivated him to hold more performances
“I think people were ready to have a good time, the vibe was great, its great energy and I was very much happy to be in this environment; the people were so receptive,” he said.
One of the patrons, Patrick Botha, hailed Code for the energetic performance.
Some of the songs that people enjoyed included ‘Bwenzi Langa’, ‘Kwathu Ku Ndirande’ and ‘Mukunama’.
