As part of its Go Green campaign, TNM Limited on Thursday planted 2,000 tree seedlings at Mikolongwe Vocational School.TNM is expected to plant over 21,000 tree seedlings across the country during this year’s tree planting season. The company said, as a responsible corporate citizen, they have engaged communities in the tree planting exercise as a way of thanking them for giving the company business.
The company’s Senior Manager (Public Relations), Akossa Mphepo, further said the company would like to see the country covered in green and provide a good environment to Malawians.
Financial institution National Bank of Malawi on Saturday also planted and donated to Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Blantyre women K3.5 million worth of seedlings. The donation is part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility. The bank’s General Manager and Head (Operations), Austin Musyani said National Bank has a responsibility to make sure that its customers live in a good environment.
Archdiocese of Blantyre Vicar General, Monsignor Boniface Tamani, said it is the duty of every Malawian to make sure that trees are planted and conserved country wide.
