Complex Tigresses, Diamonds clash Saturday

Holders Diamond, resolve to defend the Rainbow Paints Southern Region Netball League will be put to test on Saturday when they date Complex Tigresses at Blantyre Youth Centre.

Both teams have made a promising start to the season after winning their opening games.

Tigresses top the league with 12 points as they chase fifth straight win while Diamonds are second with nine points from three games.

Diamonds coach Griffin Saenda said it would be a difficult match since it would give the winners confidence for the rest of the season.

“We have lost some players, but we are not panicking. As usual we will approach the game with positive attitude as we seek to defend the league,” he said.

Tigresses assistant coach, Charles Mhango, said they were set to win.

“Every team desires to win such battles and that is what we want to do. This game is important because an early bird catches the worm. If we do well now, it will take away pressure from us,” he said.

Gerald Tasaukadala will face Antonio while Thunders will take on Chilomoni Sisters.

Gerald Tasaukadala will complete their assignments on the day when they meet Shizaella Queens.

Alliance Capital Stars will entertain last season’s most improved side, Prison Sisters.

Action will continue on Sunday, with Chilomoni Sisters dating Antonio Queens while champions Diamonds will face Shizaella Queens.

Complex Tigresses will then take on Prison Sisters while Alliance Capital Stars will date Thunders in the match of the day
