Construction council deregisters 5 local firms

The National Construction Industry Council (NCIC) has deregistered five firms operating in the construction industry, having been found guilty of professional misconduct in accordance with Section 27 of the NCIC Act and NCIC disciplinary rules.
The five are Lenzo General Construction, Chilupula Civil Contractors, Qoncrit Construction, Form and Space Designs Limited and Kayesa Engineering Services.
The two that have been suspended for 12 months are Mula Civil Engineering Services and Thawale Civil Contractors.
The two firms have been suspended beginning July 1 2021 to June 30 2022, according to a resolution that was made at a board meeting held on June 30 2021.
In an interview Monday, NCIC Chief Executive Officer Linda Phiri said most of the offences are to do with forgery of qualification information.
“Some forged receipts, others forged CVs of their employees among others,” she said.
