Consumers beware!

As new products continue to flood the Malawi market, there is a tendency by some manufacturers to release to the market goods that have no labels or branding. But, according to the Competition and Fair Trading Commission (CFTC), such goods may be below standard and therefore, hazardous to health.
CFTC has therefore, advised consumers to report any goods that have no display of manufacturers’ name, postal and physical address, contents, ingredients and expiry dates as they violate the Competition and Fair Trading Act as well as the Consumer Protection Act.
CFTC says any manufacturer who does not provide sufficient labels on their products commits an offence. The picture shows the labels and branding which are a must on any product
