CoolPro returns with reggae fest

After being out of the limelight for close to four years, CoolPro Entertainment, a reggae and dancehall stable returns with its Reggae Sun splash Festival in August at CoolPro Club in Malosa, Zomba.
The brains behind CoolPro Entertainment Duffy Chikakuda, who is also a renowned promoter confirmed the development yesterday saying festival will return big and better this year having missed out due to Covid the past four years.
“Covid kept us out of the spot with the reggae festival but now this is time to make a comeback. Our preparations are at an advanced stage and come May 1 we will announce the date and other plans ahead of this big event,” Chikakuda said.
The Lilongwe-based creative said ahead of the festival, they have also supported veteran reggae artist Lambanie Dube in the creation of his new track titled ‘For Better for Worse’ which has seen him collaborating with Liz BK.
“We keep pushing the reggae mission, we keep pushing artists and we keep creating opportunities for our artists. Lambanie Dube is a big name in the reggae realm and we are excited that he has released a new song with Liz BK,” he said.
Chikakuda said the reggae festival is aimed at giving a platform to artists in the country to showcase their work and at the same time also give people the maximum entertainment.
“We also created this stage to give people especially those in Zomba a festival. Gone are the days when Malosa was a hub of entertainment and so, as CoolPro we want to bring back those good old days. Again, it is all about keeping reggae and dancehall alive,” he said.
Lambanie Dube of the ‘Chisoni Nkumatenda’ fame said yesterday he was happy to have released a track with Liz BK which he described as a CoolPro project.
“The song is part of the CoolPro project and it basically acts as a warm up to the festival and it tells it all that CoolPro Entertainment is set for the festival and as artists, we are also ready to entertain people,” he said.
