Veteran musician and former leader of Alleluya Band, Coss Chiwalo, will on Sunday launch his Nyimbo za Akatolika album at St Pius Hall in Blantyre.
Having first launched the album in Lilongwe, Chiwalo, said he decided to bring the event to Blantyre due to public demand.
“I have been receiving pressure from people in Blantyre saying they also wanted the album launch. So, I am ready for that,” Chiwalo said.
The artist, who was at his peak in the past years, admitted that he has not done enough in terms of releasing albums of late and that Nyimbo za Akatolika is the beginning of more things to come.
“This is a special album which I have done for the first time. Despite being Nyimbo za Akatolika, it is not an album for the Catholics only. It is an album which can be listened to by everyone. It is just that I have utilised beats and style from Catholic hymns,” Chiwalo said.
He said the album is there to spread the word of God through music.
With several albums to his credit including Amakonda Aliyense, the launch will bring on stage acts such as Soldier Lucius Banda and his brother Paul, Isaac Liotcha, Charles Sinetre and other Alleluya Band crew, led by Paul Subili.
