As a result of the damage to Kapichira Hydro Power Station in February of this year, which affected 129.6 megawatts (mw), and the end of Aggreko’s contract in April, which removed 78 megawatts from the national grid, Malawians have been experiencing extended blackouts of up to six to eight hours per day.
