CR strikes netball league gold again
Two months after securing Central Health Limited sponsorship, Central Region Netball League (CRNL) is this weekend expected to unveil a new sponsor.
According to CRNL Chairperson, Fanuel Katengeza, they stuck a sponsorship deal with a company, whose identity will be revealed on Saturday at Gateway Mall in Lilongwe.
“Everything has been agreed in principal and we are really thankful to the sponsors for the gesture,” Katengeza explained.
Katengeza disclosed that the prospective sponsor had promised to invest K 8 million towards a netball challenge tournament to be played in preliminary and knock-out stages.
The three-month tournament will involve eight teams, which will be divided into two groups.
Top four teams in the region Blue Eagles Sisters, Civonets, Mafco Sisters and newly-crowned Airtel Money Central Region champions, Green Sisters, will be seeded from the preliminary stage.
The draw for the teams participating in the tournament will be made on June 20 at Gateway Mall.
At the end of the tournament, all the teams will receive cash prizes with the champions pocketing K1.5 million, whereas K1million and K800,000 is for the runners-up and third-place team respectively.
