Crazy Warriors rescued
One of the oldest Southern Zone Basketball League sides, Crazy Warriors, have narrowly escaped possible extinction after their former coach, Robert Munthali, returned to coach them.
Warriors were forfeiting games due to lack of commitment from players and officials.
Two weeks ago, Munthali returned in a 54-64 loss to Lox360 at Blantyre Youth Centre on Saturday.
Munthali said he was not concerned with the defeat.
“The team could have collapsed. At the moment, losing does not matter much,” he said.
“Our play was quite good. I am concentrating on teaching the players the fundamentals of the game. Thereafter, we will build a strong team to challenge for honours next season,” Munthali said.
Meanwhile, Lox360 captain, Nchane Nkhwazi, said the team was excited with their performance this season.
“We want to finish in the top-four so that we should qualify for the play-offs. So far our performance has been outstanding,” he said.
