The list which includes players in various sectors including media, judiciary, sports and academia has been assembled by Wealth Magazine, an entrepreneurial, event and business magazine in collaboration with CEO Africa Round Table Malawi Chapter.

The development comes as Wealth Magazine in collaboration with CEO Africa Round Table Malawi Chapter gears to host the 3rd edition of Wealth Woman Summit to be held at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe tomorrow under the theme ‘Inspire Equity’.

Wealth Magazine Managing Executive Harry Chima said this list is derived from phenomenal inspiring women, who have been featured through Wealth Magazine’s eight inspiring women and those women that the magazine encountered through various partners in the course of their work.

“The list is not exhaustive and will continue to expose many other inspiring outstanding women as we continue our work,” Chima said.

With an expected audience of 150 trailblazing women, Chima said the Wealth Woman Summit is the third instalment of the annual event honouring and celebrating women, female leaders and luminaries scripting inspiring paths for Malawi.

“After two years of a break due to the pandemic, 2023 marks the summit’s reincarnation as an unforgettable one-day event bringing power to life on stage, igniting an all new discourse with ‘Inspiring Equity’ at its heart,” he said.

He said the key to this event is to inspire equity from women in Malawi, who have made strides in the areas of business, health, entrepreneurship, agriculture, academia, engineering, politics, human rights, legal, sports and media.

“Besides being celebrated, we will share and forge new bonds and to work together to make participants smarter about aspiring equity, leadership and about everything that it takes to lead,” Chima said.

The other top names that are on the list includes First Lady Monica Chakwera, Mary Chilima, wife to the Vice President Saulos Chilima, Speaker of Parliament Catherine Gotani Hara, Malawi University of Science and Technology (Must) Vice Chancellor Professor Address Malata, Minister of Tourism Vera Kamtukule and sports personalities Tabitha Chawinga and Mwawi Kumwenda.
