Cricket League in round-of-16

The third edition of Inter-Cricket League T-20 has reached round-of-16, Organising Committee member, Saeed Limdawala, has announced.

“They say practice makes perfect. We want to give teams a platform to be competing regularly and improve their game. We hope to hold two more tournaments to make it five this years,” he said.

Limdawala hailed the teams for fighting for medals instead of money.

“The spirit which, is there, is unbelievable. Players and teams know the importance of having a trophy than money because they can keep it as a souvenir,” he said.

So far, Mpingwe Sports Club (MSC) Silver have dominated the tournament after winning it back-to-back.

During games played last weekend, MSC Grey defeated Silver. Grey made 148 runs in 20 overs with Arshad Wadiwala supplying 72 whereas Imran Pilu made 28.

Silver made 89 runs and they were all out.

MSC Brown lost to MSC White. Brown made 100 runs in 20 overs but White made those runs in 14.4 overs.

Karamat Chodhry contributed 50 runs for White whereas Yasin Patel took two wickets.

In another match, MSC Green defeated Lankan Oriental Cricket Club.

MSC Green made 155 runs with Anas Patel contributing 42 runs whereas their counterparts were all out with 145 runs.
