The on-going 20-Overs Oriental Cricket Club (OCC) tournament continues in Blantyre on Sunday with games scheduled for two venues.
The Competition’s Coordinator, Saeed Limdabala, said they decided to feature games at two venues to ensure that they conclude the competition within three months.
“We also feel that we should use the two venues to spice up the tournament. We need a different atmosphere and setting to make the games exciting,” he said.
Following the decision, Mpingwe Purple date Mpingwe Green while Mpingwe Silver take on Mpingwe Blue. Both games will take place at Oriental Cricket Club.
Games set for Indian Sports Club involve Mpingwe Gold against Mpingwe Yellow while Mpingwe Orange take on Mpingwe Grey.
During last weekend’s games, Mpingwe Green lost to OCC. Mpingwe Green made 76 runs all-out in 20-overs and in reply, OCC made those runs in just eight-overs to win the match.
Bristin Bhasker and Akshay Rugani contributed 75 runs to easily win while Sarfaraz Bijju took three wickets for OCC.
In another game, Mpingwe White beat Mpingwe Yellow by 154- 64 runs.
Another game saw dominant Mpingwe Silver making 165 runs in 20-overs. Aasif Rustam contributed 44 runs, Tosif Rustam had 45 runs while Akil Bapu supplied 33 runs in just 15 balls.
The final game saw Indian Sports Club defeat Mpingwe Brown. Indian Sports Club made 192 runs with Saylesh Jina contributing 93 runs.
In response, Brown made 139 runs and Hamza Patel had 44 runs, Faizan Patel 28 runs while Swami Patel took four wickets.
