Critics fail to provide solutions—Peter Mutharika
By Faith Kamtambe:
President Peter Mutharika has said it is sad that people that criticise his development initiatives fail to provide solutions.
He said this when addressing a crowd that gathered in Area 36, Lilongwe, Sunday during a whistle stop tour.
Mutharika said some people criticise projects he initiated such as Malata Cement Subsidy and Farm Input Subsidy Programme but fail to provide solutions.
“People that criticise subsidy programmes do not even provide solutions. I intend to continue developing this nation,” he said.
Mutharika also urged people to vote for him during the May 21 Tripartite Elections, saying he has a lot to offer in the next five years, including constructing roads.
He also spoke against political violence, saying people must learn to protect their wives and mothers.
“I want violence to stop in this country,” Mutharika said.
On a lighter note, Mutharika said he was happy that Malawi Police Service has arrested Anderson Chipwaila, known as Mesho in the music industry, for composing a song that talks ill of the Islamic faith.
During the whistle stop tour, Mutharika visited Area 23 Market, Area 24 Main Market, Area 36, Chinsapo 2 Market and Mgona ground.
