Well known boxers Charles Misanjo and Simon Tcheta will square up against each in an eight-round non-title bout at M1 Centre Point on Sunday in Lilongwe.
The first time they met, the fight ended in a draw at the same venue. Both boxers have talked tough ahead of the bout.
Misanjo said he was confident of winning the contest this time despite being inactive for over 10 months due to Covid-19 restrictions.
“I will give him some boxing lessons. I believe he cannot stop me as I have had intensive preparations,” Misanjo said.
According to boxrec.com, Misanjo has won 29 bouts and lost 17 fights whereas Tcheta has won nine, lost three and drew once.
On his part, Tcheta said he was not geared for the bout.
“I have prepared well for the bout. It will be a tough fight but I will win it,” he said.
This will be second boxing contest after the suspension on sports was lifted.
Superior Boxing Promotion Director Japhet Majekete said all was set for the boxing fiesta.
“We anticipate exciting bouts as all the boxers have trained well,” he said.
In the main supporting bout, Kudakwache Banda and Juma Jack will face off. In other bouts, Jaffali Mussa will face Clifford Mtafu whereas Yusuf Alli will meet Damiano Mphepo. There will also be a bout involving Harriet Mtende and Fatima Mbeka.
