Lilongwe-based musician Dan Lufani popularly known as Dan Lu on Monday dropped his fourth album titled ‘Game Changer’.
The 18-track project comes out following a Listening Party held at Latitude 13 in Lilongwe on Saturday.
“I had a great time during the Listening Party and the feedback was overwhelming. I did my best and I hope people enjoy the songs,” Dan Lu said.
With the album on the market, Dan Lu said he will drop the first single ‘Wachiyao Wangalusa’ this coming Monday.
“I am doing things differently but people can access the songs on the following platforms – Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Bebo, Tik Tok, Amazon, Tidal and YouTube Music,” he said.
Some of the songs people will sample in the album include ‘Usabise’ featuring Zambia’s Organised Family, ‘Feeling You’, featuring Zambia’s Macky2 , ‘Onana’, ‘On Me’, ‘Confirm’, ‘Chuchu’, ‘Simukudziwa’, ‘Better With You’ and ‘More than A Mother’.
The singer, who recently performed at Sand Music Festival held at Sunbird Nkopola in Mangochi District, said the album is encouraging people to be comfortable in whatever they do and strive to bring out the best.
“It is good to love what you do, to love what brings you bread and butter and to do it to your best. I am happy with what I do and I do it to my best,” he said.
Dan Lu then hailed people for their support throughout all his projects and called upon them to continue doing so.
“We can only rise and conquer the international stage when we get all the support from people. We are thankful for the support but we still need more. The support can come through patronising our shows and even buying our original works,” Dan Lu said.
His sentiments come barely a week after Nigerian musician Mr P asked Malawians to support their own.
Mr P observed that Malawians are supporting their artists but are not doing enough.
“We are where we are because Nigerians supported us and so, please support your own. Artists here are not different from artists from other countries, we are all the same. Artists here are good,” he said.
During his performance at Sand Music Festival, Mr P invited Lulu and Dan Lu to the stage and asked the audience to cheer them up to show love in the ‘Love Your Own’ campaign.
Some of Dan Lu’s previous albums include ‘Shupie’, No Size and Sorry.
