Newly appointed Silver Strikers Coach, Daniel Kabwe, has said he has found a good crop of players after drilling the team for a week in preparation for his debut season in the TNM Super League.

Kabwe arrived in the country last week after signing a two-year deal with the Reserve Bank of Malawi sponsored side. The Zambian got straight to business on Monday last week drilling old and new players ahead of the season.

When asked on his assessment of the players in his first week, Kabwe said he was happy that the players showed positive attitude.

“First week at Silver, very exciting. Every player wanted to be noticed but the positive is the zeal to learn. It is a youth team and I am enjoying myself,” Kabwe said.

Silver regrouped last week as part of preparations for the new season.

The Airtel Top 8 champions are on the verge of completing a deal for Blue Eagles striker Foster Biton as a replacement for Khuda Muyaba who joined Polokwane City FC last month.

Meanwhile, Silver have shown interest to sign Ntopwa Nigerian striker, Friday Osajie, as they continue their rebuilding exercise.

The Nigerian started training with the Central Bankers on Monday hoping to impress Kabwe. He was quoted as saying on Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) Radio 2 FM sports that he was a free agent.

Ntopwa owner, Isaac Jomo Osman confirmed that the Nigerian had no contract with the Blantyre-based team.

“There are some clauses that we agreed that if he signs for any team, we will get a certain cut because we have developed him to the level he is now,” Osman said.

Last week, Silver team manager, Peter Mgangira said the club has started on a good note with old and new players.
