Daniel Mazoe, Ruth Mvula claim TNM golf
Kamuzu Academy-based golfer, Daniel Mazoe, and Ruth Mvula were crowned champions of TNM Golf Tournament held at Kasasa Golf Club on Saturday.
Playing off handicap 11, Mazoe counted out fellow Kasungu-based golfer, Bob Dambo, on 38 points to finish on position one in the competition which attracted 60 golfers.
Dambo scooped second position whereas Daniel Mvula also counted out Thomas Malopa on 37 points to claim third spot.
In his victory speech, Mazoe said he was determined to win the contest despite the blazing sun.
“It was not easy but I was brave on the course because I really wanted to win it. My fellow players also played well. I would like to thank TNM for organising a wonderful tournament,” Mazoe said.
In the ladies’ category, Mvula (handicap 23) finished as the champion when she counted out Chimwemwe Chavula on 29 points.
TNM Chief Commercial Officer for Consumer Services, Daniel Makata, applauded the golfers for taking part in the tournament.
“As TNM, we treat our customers as kings and queens because we want them to enjoy our quality services all the time. Golf is one of the best ways to interact and network with our customers so that we share different ideas,” Makata said.
