Dave Pemba resigns

Dust is refusing to settle at Be Forward Wanderers after one of the joint treasurers, Dave Pemba, resigned opting to serve as a committee member.

Pemba was questionably elected treasurer alongside Mphatso Jika during the team’s main executive polls on Sunday.

The former Wanderers Vice Treasurer, through a letter dated 10th February 2020, notified fellow executive members about his decision to leave the post and serve as an executive member.

“Therefore, I would like to thank all the members and club supporters for the trust they had in me on a position of treasurer and I would like to say that I will continue serving the club as an executive member,” he said.

Newly elected Wanderers Vice-General Secretary, Adelaide Migogo confirmed Pemba’s resignation yesterday.

“Yes I can confirm Mr Dave Pemba has resigned opting to be an executive member leaving office to Mphatso Jika. This means Jika is the treasurer with Dan Pemphero as his vice,” Migogo said.

During the controversial elections, trouble ensued as voting commenced for the post of treasurer when Pemba and Jika faced off.

Both candidates had a long queue but it was Jika’s line that appeared to be longer. Before the counting of votes was over the fans had been split following interference.

Following the incident, the board of trustees led by Chairperson Rashid Gaffar met for almost 30 minutes before declaring that both Jika and Pemba had won.

The decision did not go down well with Jika’s sympathisers who protested vehemently.
