Davie Chiwaya set for double launch
Gospel singer Davie Chiwaya has broken his silence and will on Sunday launch two albums namely Ndimayenda Naye and Hymns I love at Robin’s Park in Blantyre.
Chiwaya, who prides in re-arranging a song titled ‘Champion of Love,’ originally done by Heritage Singers and ‘Tsiku Lobwera Yesu,’ usually performed by Dorcas Choirs of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, said he is out with two albums to spread the word of God.
“I have a lot of songs that I believe have, very important message of salvation for the people. This is why I decided to work on the two albums. Every song has a message that can change someone’s lifestyle,” said Chiwaya.
The gospel artist, who is a member of accapella group We Are One, said he has compiled all the songs for the two albums in one CD for people to easily access them.
With two albums already to his credit Anayenda and Champion of love, Chiwaya said he has taken time working on the two latest albums although he was quick to say that in Hymns I love he has re-arranged songs from the Hymn book.
“I have re-arranged songs from the hymn book that I fell in love with since I was young. And in the other album there are songs that I also re-arranged, songs that I have been singing from my childhood,” he said.
He called on people to come in large numbers and support him during the launch which will be spiced up by performances from other artists, including Sweeney Chimkango, King James Phiri, Beulah Land, Mada Kalikokha, Press On and We Are One.
