Debutants eye first wins

TNM Super League debutants Bangwe All Stars and Extreme FC are hoping to chalk their first wins as action enters week four this weekend.
Bangwe are on position 10 on the table with three points in their debut campaign.
They started the season with a barren draw against Mighty Wakawaka Tigers before 1-1 draws with Dedza Dynamos Salima Sugar and Blue Eagles.
On the other hand, Extreme are second from bottom on position 15 with just a point after drawing 1-1 with Civil Service United.
The Mchinji-based side is worse off after losing by 1-0 margins to FCB Nyasa Bullets and Tigers.
This weekend, Bangwe will be in action against Karonga United at Karonga Stadium on Sunday while Extreme host Kamuzu Barracks at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe on the same day.
Both rookies have said they are confident of registering their first-ever wins.
Bangwe Team Manager Steve Madeira said they are in high spirits ahead of the Karonga trip.
“We have been playing very well but we have been failing to turn our chances into goals. We are still at pains that we drew against the Blue Eagles yet we dominated the match and created several opportunities.
“It is important that we should get a win soon and it has to be on Sunday in Karonga. We have an exciting squad that is raring to go. A win on Sunday will send a strong message to other teams that we have taken off,” Madeira, a former Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Mighty Wakawaka Tigers team manager, said.
Similarly, Extreme patron Hastings Chilunga said winning is their ultimate goal on Sunday.
“It is important for us to get our first win this weekend. We are still improving and the players showed it against Bullets when they with a narrow margin. We hope to do better, not only on Sunday, but in other games as well,” he said.
