Dedza Dynamos Salima Sugar have parted ways with seasoned coach Dan Dzinkambani.

This comes as Dzinkambani does not have a minimum Caf B Coaching Licence as stipulated in Club Licencing Requirements.

Dynamos General Secretary Mabvuto Mugode said they had no option but to part ways with him.

“He is a good coach and we will greatly miss him,’’ Mugode said.

However, Dzinkambani was not readily available for his comment.

The former MDC United and Karonga United coach guided the club to position nine in the TNM Super League with 41 points from 30 matches in their debut season.

Dynamos also took part in the 2022 Airtel Top 8 but were knocked out of the competition following a 3-2 loss on aggregate to Blue Eagles. They also reached the round of 16 of FDH Bank Cup after eliminating Silver Strikers 5-4 on post-match penalties.

Football Association of Malawi (Fam) Compliance Manager Casper Jangale said only Caf B Coaching Licence holders would be allowed to lead teams next season.

Meanwhile, Dynamos have hired Gilbert Chirwa on a one-year deal. Mugode said the deal had been agreed in principle.

“We have no time to waste as the league is expected to start next month. We need to give him ample time to prepare the team ahead of next season,’’ Mugode said.

Chirwa also confirmed that he had swapped Hammers for Dynamos.

“I am in Dedza now and I am focusing on a new project with Dynamos,’’ Chirwa said.

At Hammers, Chirwa replaced Etison Kadenge Mwafulirwa, who left the club after poor results in the second round. Chirwa inherited the club while it was in relegation zone but managed to finish on position 10 in the league with 34 points.
