Malawi National Football Team defender Chembezi Dennis has been linked with a move either to Qatar or Saudi Arabia after leaving South Africa’s National first Division side Polokwane.
The former Mighty Mukuru Wanderers defender parted ways with Polokwane on Thursday, ending a two-and-half year spell.
The player’s manager Steve Madeira said some teams in Qatar and Saudi Arabia were interested in signing the Malawi international.
“We have strong interests from Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
We are weighing the offers and soon we will communicate his next destination,” Madeira, who is also a former Mighty Wanderers manager, said.
Madeira also hailed Polokwane for releasing Chembezi following lengthy discussions.
Polokwane announced the players departure in a letter dated 23rd June 2022 and signed by the team’s director of football Tincy Tema.
“We wish Chembezi all the best as he looks to join the club of his choice,” part of the letter read.
Chembezi, 25, joined Polokwane in January 2020 and this season he featured in 14 games scoring a goal.
Polokwane has two other Malawian players in striker Khuda Muyaba and midfielder Mike Mkwate.
