Deus Nkutu scores on return from injury
Deus Nkutu on Saturday marked his returned from injury on a high note as he scored in Moyale Barracks’ one-all draw against Big Bullets in a thrilling TNM Super League match played at the Mzuzu Stadium.
Nkutu had been out of action for several months since suffering a head injury during the last season TNM Super League match between the two sides in Blantyre.
But on his return, he only needed eight minutes on the pitch to score.
Nkutu was set up by Luka Muyaba and with Bullets’ goalie Owen Chaima advancing, he looped the ball over him to lead Moyale Barracks 1-0.
However, The People’s team was not shaken by the Kaning’ina soldiers’ lead as Chiukepo Msowoya, dribbled past some Moyale Barracks defenders before beating Moyale goalkeeper Juma Chikwenga to claim an equaliser.
Sensing weaknesses, both sides made some changes to strengthen their sides with Muyaba, Nkutu going out for Zikani Sichinga and Khuda Muyaba.
Davie Ng’ambi replaced Henry Kabichi but there was little impact from them till referee George Aziz Nyirenda, who handled the game well, ended the match.
The draw means Big Bullets return to Blantyre with two points following a one-all draw against Mzuzu University on Saturday.
The result takes Bullets tally to 16 points from eight games while Moyale Barracks have eight points from eight games.
Bullets team manager, Billy Tewesa, said he was satisfied with his players’ display.
“Not always can we get full points, sometimes we have to stumble and thank God for that ,” said Tewesa.
Moyale Barracks Themba Mtontholo also bemoaned loss of scoring chances to grab three points
