DJ Boo rebrands

Celebrated artist and media personality DJ Boo has rebranded to Abantwana as he keeps pushing his creative works.
He said the name is part of giving himself a new face.
“Times are changing and so, we also need to change the way we are doing things and this also includes breathing life to our names, hence the new name,” DJ Boo said.
The artist is destined to release a new track titled ‘Konka’ featuring Blantyre-based budding star Emmie Deebo.
“I discovered Emmie Deebo through The Lounge, a music programme that I host every Saturday on Mibawa Television. She appeared on the show as a guest that I interviewed and got the chance to see her perform some of her songs,” he said.
The artist heaped praise on Deebo saying she is bringing something fresh to the music industry.
“Her style is authentic. She has an incredible voice and can literally jump on all types of genres and still maintain her delivery. She has that old school touch to her music infused with that new era style,” DJ Boo said.
The track has been produced by Martin Anjelz and according to DJ Boo; it will drop during the Valentine period from February 13 to 17.
He said ‘Konka’ has been inspired by the current popular afro beats trends.
“This is a love song that talks about waiting for that special someone. We all wish for the perfect woman/man, someone to call, a soul mate and the amount of patience it takes to find that someone, who conquers your heart hence the title ‘Konka’,” the artist said.
He said ‘Konka’ is the title track for his upcoming five track Extended Playlist (EP) titled K.O (Knockout) which drops on May 1 2023.
