DJ Bwanamkubwa shines at Madala Night
Several well-wishers, fun seekers and imbibers on Saturday night thronged Chez Ntemba International in Lilongwe, to celebrate with DJ Bwanamkubwa who celebrated his 57th birthday.
Carlsberg Malawi, Chez Ntemba Management, Design Printers, Dziko FM and several other customers of the Night Club added a sparkle to the birthday celebration held under the banner Madala Night.
Reggae group Soul Raiders, local shakers Symon and Kendall of the ‘Nyemba Nyemba,’ fame spiced up the birthday party with performances.
DJ Bwanamkubwa, real name Lwambwa Mutombo Lenoma, hailed patrons for the support during the birthday party.
“We have been holding this event for seven years now and each year brings about new things,” said DJ Bwanamkubwa.
He said that he has been dee-jaying for years; a profession he said has not been taken seriously in the country.
“Most people do not take dee Jaying as a serious profession. I started dee Jaying at the age of 10 in Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC) and have been a DJ in Malawi for at least 13 years now so I am thankful to the people for the support,” said DJ Bwanamkubwa.
The veteran DJ then cautioned the already established and up-and-coming DJs to be role models and not be overshadowed by fame.
“We should not be overtaken by fame, we need to be role models and strive to leave a good life and take care of our lives,” he said.
