Dwangwa United are targeting three friendly matches as part of preparations for the 2016 TNM Super League.

The team’s manager, Davie Mwandira, on Saturday said they were eyeing some top teams, such as Silver Strikers, for sparring.

“In fact, we were supposed to play Silver today, but we failed due to the death of Stain Malata’s mother. So we have shifted the game to next Saturday. Then we will go to Mzuzu. But right now, during training we just separate our old Chipiku squad from the new ones and form two teams that play games,” Mwandira said on Saturday.

He said their new coach McDonald Mtetemera and the technical panel are working towards building a strong team.

“We are also recruiting new players. Meanwhile, we have some players from Rumphi, Mzuzu, Lilongwe and teams like Airborne Rangers who are training with us. So it is up to the coach to assess their performance and fitness and then give them space in the final squad,” he explained.

“Players, who want to come and try their luck, here are welcome. However, they need to call me in advance so that we can make arrangements. You know when they come here there will be need to lodge them, feed them as well as refunding their transportation if they do not make it to the final squad,” he added.

Dwangwa United were crowned champions of Chipiku Central Region Premier Division in 2015. Dwangwa, alongside Mzuni FC and Max Bullets, are the new entrants in the TNM Super League.
