Blue Eagles General Secretary, Ulemu Kalua, has said his side has no problem with the Carlsberg Cup fixture at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.
Eagles were drawn against Be Forward Wanderers in the quarter-final clash to be played tomorrow.
Contrary to their expectations of playing at their home ground, Nankhaka, Football Association of Malawi (Fam) put the game at Civo.
Kalua yesterday said that they respected the rules of the competition.
“Every competition has rules and we abide by them. Playing away from our home is not a problem. We are always ready to play everywhere in Malawi. Wanderers beat us 1-0 at Balaka Stadium in the TNM Super League, but this is a different game played on a different venue and day. We are, therefore, prepared for them,” Kalua said.
Fam Competitions Manager, Gomezgani Zakazaka, said the Organising Committee used article 8:1 of the rules of the competition to decide the venues.
He said the committee considers factors such as security, officiation and commercial aspects when deciding the venues.
In other matches, Michiru Madrid will travel to meet Moyale Barracks at Mzuzu Stadium tomorrow.
On Sunday, Nyasa Big Bullets will line up against Cobbe Barracks at Balaka Stadium as Kasungu Police take on Red Lions at Civo Stadium.
Eagles ousted TN Stars 2-1 at Nankhaka whereas Wanderers beat Mafco 1-0 to proceed to the quarter-final stage.
