Easter Theatre Festival which returned to the stage last year after a three-year break due to financial problems will be back this year.
The festival which gives a platform to among others, drama groups to showcase their works, is spearheaded by Solomonic Peacocks.
Solomonic Peacocks Director, McArthur Matukuta, said on Monday that the preparations for the festival were at an advanced stage and that they would be coming out soon with proper details of the activities.

Last year Matukuta, said they operated the festival on a small budget of less than K1 million and that they were hoping for the best this year.
“We are looking forward to the best this year. We are thankful to players such as Jacaranda Cultural Centre for their support. It is also our call to the corporate world and other well-wishers to help us,” Matukuta said.
The festival last year brought performances from among others, Solomonic Peacocks, Erlebnis Theatre from Hannover City in Germany, Nkhokwe Arts and Chichiri Prison Cultural Troupe.
There were also performances from poets such as Sylvester Kalizang’oma and Yohane Pangani.
The festival is likely to take place at Jacaranda Cultural Centre in Blantyre where it was held last year although the organisers are yet to announce the venue and the dates for the festival.
