Eastern Region Master of Ceremonies usher in new leaders

By Tiyese Monjeza:
Eastern Region Master of Ceremonies (MCs) Association has new executive members following elections which were held on Tuesday at Mponda Primary School in Zomba.
The new executive, headed by Humphrey Matias, will run its affairs for three years.
Matias has succeeded James Nipuro, who has been at the helm of the association since 2008.
Renowned DJ Kalinga Moda was re-elected vice president while Martha Khonje Gondwe retained the seat of treasurer.
James Chirambo, better known known as Jammy Marcus in the music industry, went unopposed for the position of public relations officer.
Matias has since pledged to improve and grow the association.
“I feel honoured to be trusted with such a big position and I don’t take it for granted. It is my wish that, with support from the outgoing executive, we will improve our service delivery to our clients and instill discipline in MCs,’ he said.
He further said the association would venture into social responsibility activities just to give back to the society.
Chirambo said the association has MCs from Mangochi, Balaka, Machinga and Zomba.
