The last two slots in the FMB T20 Cricket tournament would be settled tomorrow when four teams battle in the semifinals.
Easypack face Fargo Limited whereas Victoria Forex Bureau date Anchor Industries . Mpingwe Sports Club host the two semifinals.
Meanwhile, the top two-rated sides, Easypack and Fargo, have engaged in war of words.
Easypack official, Omar Farouk, said they were determined to reach the final and win the second edition of the competition.
“We are the best team in the land. We dominate these tournaments. Of course, others deliberately want to overlook us but they can’t take our history away,” he said.
Farouk said, led by Khalil Badat and Sohail German, the team was better placed to triumph. Influential Badat scored 64 runs.
The four teams reached the semifinals of the T20 FMB Cricket Knock-out tournament after winning quarterfinal games on Sunday at Mpingwe Sports Club.
Fargo Limited director, Ameer Jakura, said despite being labeled as underdogs in the tie, they were prepared to stun Easypack.
“We will speak on Sunday after the game,” he said.
To reach the semifinal, Fargo LTD booted out Chambo Fisheries by 30 runs. Fargo scored 127 runs all-out. The best performer was Zahid Khan, who contributed 37 runs whereas Abid Khan took two wickets.
In the second quarter final, Victoria Forex defeated Pharmanova Limited by 13 runs. Victoria’s Shakil Patel produced an outstanding performance and he made 34 runs. Teammate Tharanga Lanka took three wickets.
Easypack eliminated hot title contenders Mapeto David Whitehead and Sons by six wickets.
The last quarterfinal saw Anchor Industries beating Sucam-Natsons by 41 runs.
