ECG, HfH Bailout Chayera

Lilongwe-based local NGO Hope for the Hopeless (HfH) have revealed that they entered into partnership with Prophet Shepherd Bushiri aimed at supporting Lilongwe based painter Chris Chayera.

Chayera is a person with a disability who demonstrates his talent by striking the brush using his mouth.

The HfH has been taking care of Chayera for some time.

Addressing journalists in Lilongwe today, HfH Executive Director Felix Sikwese said in this partnership, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri will fund HfH to construct a modern house and an arts workshop for Chayera.

He added Bushiri will also, through HfH, help market and sell all art-pieces of Chayera to his international visitors.

Bushiri’s spokesperson Ephraim Nyondo confirmed the development and underlined that Chalera is an extraordinary artist worth supporting.

The gesture is coming barely a week after Chayera handed over a painting of Bushiri and his wife Mary.
