Ecobank Malawi on Saturday commemorated Ecobank Day with a message of its commitment to continue offering best services and products to customers.
The Pan-African bank also committed to continue with its various corporate social responsibility programmes in the country and advocating health living among Malawians.
The bank donated K5 million to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital’s oncology department.
Ecobank Malawi Managing Director, Charles Asiedu, said the bank values community members in areas it operates.
He said the bank was contributing towards the fight against non-communicable diseases in the country.
“We know that non-communicable diseases can be tamed by, at least, eating well, sleeping well and exercises. So we thought that if we begin with the exercise, it will be a very good communication to the society,” Asiedu said.
As part of the commemoration, Ecobank members of staff and some customers walked from College of Medicine (CoM) Sports Complex in Blantyre to Chichiri Shopping Mall and back. This was accompanied by health talks and aerobics.
CoM Principal, Mwapatsa Mipando, thanked the bank for the support.
