Ecobank, Masm partner to ease fees payment

Ecobank Malawi and Medical Aid Society of Malawi (Masm) Thursday entered into a partnership which would see both the bank’s customers and non-customers paying their Masm membership fees using Ecobank platforms.
The bank has platforms such as branches, express shops, mobile applications and internet banking.
Through the partnership, Ecobank will be processing monthly subscription fees in real time on behalf of Masm.
To ensure extra convenience, Ecobank customers will also enjoy ultimate convenience of making these payments anytime, anywhere via the bank’s digital banking platforms in real time.
Speaking during the official signing ceremony, Ecobank
Head of Corporate Banking Weluzani Chingota said the deal aims at bringing convenience.
He added that the partnership serves as a prevention measure coronavirus as health experts advise people to decongest public places such as banking halls.
“When you make the payment you are assured that the payment has been made to Masm so you do not have to wait for days for the information to be updated. This will be real-time transaction,” he said.
The public will be using all payment channels for free and at anytime, anywhere.
Masm Chief Commercial Officer Bernard Ambali said the agreement would help both Ecobank and Masm offer best and convenient services to customers.
“Masm members, whether they are banking with Ecobank or any other bank, should utilise this opportunity because it brings a lot of convenience to them and to us,” Ambali said.
Ecobank Malawi is a member of Ecobank Group, which has footprints across 33 African countries and beyond.
