Well-built Emmanuel ‘MuscleManzy’ Muhuwa proved his supremacy when he successfully defended the Mr Malawi Bodybuilding title at Bingu International Conference Centre in Lilongwe on Saturday.
Muhuwa defeated eight other contestants to defend the title.
“My plan was to be better than the last time. I never doubted my prowess because I knew I was going to win,” he said.
Muhuwa, who has now won the title thrice, received K2 million plus a shopping voucher valued at K100,000 from Into Sports.
Second-placed Wellington Mwangonde got K1 million while third-placed Frazer Zeka received K500,000.
In men’s physique category, Thoko Kakhongwe emerged winner followed by Grivin Manda on second and Bruce John on third.
Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Association of Malawi (Wabam) President Arox Kamng’ona said it was a successful tournament.
“It was a tough competition but we are glad that we managed to stage a colourful competition,” he said.
Kamng’ona hailed sponsors for supporting the body.
Mdina Engineering was the main sponsor while the likes of Sharma Electrical, Scalla’s Cafe and Lounge, Minister of Natural Resources Eisenhower Mkaka and Hashtag Fitness also supported the event.
