Ernest Mtawali in ex-Bafana star’s dream team

Malawi national football team legend, Ernest Mtawali, has made the cut for former South Africa star Joseph Makhanya’s dream team.
Mtawali has been included in a star-studded team which is dominated by South African players.
The former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns midfield kingpin is the only foreign former player in the team.
“Classy good game reader, had the ability to defend and attack, could score goals from far, comfortable on the ball,” reads part of a report published on www. kickoff.com.
Makhanya selected a powerful team with a strong Orlando Pirates core and has included just one former Kaizer Chiefs star.
The team includes Thabang Stemmer, Abednego Netshiozwi, Lucky Lekgwathi, Fabian McCarthy, Jimmy Tau, Benedict Vilakazi, Steve Lekoelea, Helman Mkhalele, Benni McCarthy and Lesley Manyathela.
Mtawali started his football career at Hardware Stars before moving to Soutrh Africa where he played for Welkom Real Hearts, Bloemfontein Celtic, Sundowns, Pirates, Hellenic and Ajax Cape Town.
He also played for Newell’s Old Boys in Argentina, French side Toulouse and Wehda I of Saudi Arabia.
