Chairperson of the organising team for veteran gospel musician Ethel Kamwendo Banda, Gilton Chakhaza, said Tuesday time has come for people to support the minister of God as she prepares to make history launching three albums.
Chakhaza said the three albums have different messages that will speak to everyone.
He said this during a press conference at Sunbird Mount Soche in Blantyre ahead of the launch of the three albums Tate Ndinu Woyera, which has worship songs, Ndili Pa Nzere and Moyo Wanga which have afro praise songs.
“We, the organising team are saying everything is ready and we are just waiting for the day. But I want to commend Ethel Kamwendo Banda for the job well done, God is using her to minister the word of God through music and the three albums are just amazing,” Chakhaza said.
He said the three albums have the message and sound for everyone.
“Everyone must eat and get full and not only a few and so there is a message for everyone. In the three albums there are worship songs, songs of encouragement and hope,” he said.
Ethel is coming out with the three albums after an eight- year break and the launch starts at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe on November 30 before dating Sunbird Mount Soche on December 7 then December 23 at Squirrels Park in Mzuzu.
Ethel’s husband Blessings, who also happens to be her manager, said the triple launch will bring the best where people will experience the greatness of God.
“During the launch, people will have time to worship God through the worship songs, dance as well as sing. It is a different set up where Ethel will perform seven songs non-stop in the beginning and then finish up with other seven songs,” Banda said.
Asked why she has given herself a tough task of working on three albums instead of concentrating on one, Ethel said as a minister of God, she has no limit.
“Gospel music to me is not just about singing but it is a ministry. So through the three albums I have a message from God that is tackling different issues. For instance there are people who only love to worship and so for them they will enjoy the worship CD, there are others who love to dance and that comes in Ndili Pa Nzere,” Ethel said.
She said during the eight years she has been on a break, she has learned from others and that in the three albums she has improved a lot.
Having started her journey in secular where she starred with Kamwendo Brothers and Ravers Band among others before she turned born again, Ethel said during the launch, people will also have a chance of experiencing the journey she has travelled to be where she is now.
The 12-track Ndili Pa Mnzere album was produced by Joseph Tembo at Groove Magic Studio and she started working on it in 2015 while the 11-track Moyo Wanga was produced by OBK in South Africa last year.
Her 13-track worship album Tate Ndinu Woyera was produced by her son Peter at their studio.
“I saw great talent in him having produced songs for artists such as Chiko and so I did not hesitate to work with him. Again with the youth being on top as far as music is concerned I felt this was also befitting to reach out to them,” the songstress, said.
Ahead of the launch, Ethel has already released two music videos for people to sample and they are ‘Ndili Pa Nzere’, and the latest ‘Gwira Yesu’, which she worked with Zionists.
Ethel, who has also released seven promotional songs from the three albums, is set to perform with her son for the first time and dedicate him to the body of Jesus Christ during the launch.
So far Ethel has 14 gospel albums and her previous ones include Yesu Amayankha, Ndinu Nokha, Zabwino Zonse, Ndi Umboni and Chete.
