She said she has learned a lot in performing copyright songs which she said have given her the challenge to come up with better compositions.

“People have been pushing me to record my own album over the years but to me it was too early but now is the time which God made for me to release this album. It’s a special album because all my songs talks about my life, the journey I have travelled,” said Kadzuwa Mhango.

“It’s a secular album so to say but it also has gospel songs in it.

But there is also a special song in which I am talking about the time I have spent with my mother up to the time of her death this year,” said Kadzuwa Mhango.

The musician said she is still at pains to lose her mother who battled with stroke.

“It’s not easy to leave without a mother, she was my pillar, she made me strong and made me what I am today and her death simply took away that joy but all in all this was the plan of God and so I had to take it. So this is a song which will offer hope to people” said Kadzuwa Mhango.

She said she is ready for the market and that she wants to carry the flag of female artists.

“As female artists we can do it as long as we are focused and so my appeal to fellow female artists out there, let’s keep walking and we will surely get there,” said the singer.

Kadzuwa Mhango has in the past years starred with the disbanded Mibawa Band and now she is a member of Mizu Band. As a vocalist, she has formed a strong vocal department in the group with JJ.

During a show at Mibawa Café in Blantyre on Saturday, Kadzuwa Mhango performed one of the songs to make the album titled ‘Ndapana Iwe.’

The reggae song impressed the people who said they cannot wait to have the album on the market.
